Welcome to the weekly blog! I wanted this blog to be about all things makeup! Some people think that they should do their own makeup. Hopefully after reading this blog, you will see why we want to take care of the makeup for you when you book with Hadonica’s photography!
First of all, we still want you to look like YOU. Just because you get your makeup done, does not mean you have to go with a bold look. If you normally wear minimal makeup, let the makeup artist give you a natural glam. If you are feeling sassy, let the makeup artist GLAM YOU UP.
A big reason to get your makeup done is to take the stress off of the client. Don’t stress yourself out about doing your own makeup, let the artist worry about the perfect eyeliner and lip combo! Your photo session with Hadonica’s Photography should be enjoyable and relaxing! Enjoy your wine, fruit, and snacks while the artists do their work!
There are tons of reasons to let the makeup artist take care of you, but one is FLASHBACK. Some makeup gives a white flashback on camera. The makeup artist knows what kind of makeup to use to avoid flashback, and how much makeup to use to show up on camera.
Here are some tips from our makeup artist to help make your photo glam experience perfect!
DON’T get waxed the same day as your photo shoot! This could cause your foundation to slide on the waxed skin, and your skin will more than likely be irritated and red.
This may be difficult to hear, but do not bring your strongly opinionated friend to your glam session. They can come after you are ready. Harsh? Maybe a little. We want you to look and feel your best! We want you to pick out your makeup colors or determine if you like the lipstick shade the artist applied. We don’t want your friend to change your mind about makeup that you love and makes you feel beautiful!
AVOID spray tans right before your glam! After you wash your face and apply moisturizers and primers, these can break down the chemicals in your skin. This can leave your spray tan uneven, or even remove most of the tan. Also, your makeup artist and photographer do not want you to look orange in pictures!
DON’T PEAK! If you look over and see dark colors around your eyes before the look is finished, this can stress you out! Makeup is a process, so don’t peak and stress yourself out if it looks crazy at first! Also, we LOVE surprising clients and doing a big glam reveal at Hadonica’s Photography!
SHOW UP WITH PICTURES. Makeup artists love when you either give them color suggestions, or even show up with an inspiration picture! This helps the artist get a sense of the look you are wanting.
Remember, a smokey eye is not just one look. If you tell your artist you want a smokey eye, that can mean 1,000 different things! Be specific with colors or what you want!
GET THE LASHES, GIRL! Even if you never wear them, we have natural lashes too. These show up great on photos and you should never be afraid to get the lashes!
Listen to the artist. Artists know what features to “glam up” to highlight your best version of you! Definitely give your wants and opinions, but trust your artist to make you look and feel beautiful!
A huge perk of getting your makeup done is that the artist will use products that LAST. You won’t have to worry about your makeup rubbing off during the shoot!
Last but not least, CONFIDENCE. What’s better than a confidence booster before you have your photos taken. Having your makeup done is a huge confidence booster for clients to know that they are about to literally put their best face forward!
