Roishina | The Empowered 30+ Spotlight | Hadonica's Photography
Meet Roishina!
“Be kind!” is the motto of our next featured client who is an accomplished writer, blogger, editor and more! This is what a celebration of all the joys and lessons that comes with being 46 looks like! She came to us after hearing about and seeing our quality of work and our transformative process.
Before the shoot:
There are many reasons for someone to sign up for a photoshoot. Everybody is looking to get something different out of their experience. For Roishina, she said what she was looking for was, “To see myself hopefully how others see me. And that would be what's on the inside of me to show on the outside - Beauty.”
ROISHINA’S Q&A:
One word to describe yourself. Why did you choose this word?
Determined.
Because of my resilience and mindset.
Who are you as an individual?
Creative. Trustworthy. Boldly honest. Strong and soft at the same time. A true introvert.
In your opinion, what are some stigmas and beliefs that women face after they turn 30?
Attitude and weight struggles.
What advice do you have for other women in their 30s?
Love yourself and be kind to others. Be mindful of people's time. To be early is to be on time. To be on time, baby, you are already late! Live your life for today. Work toward your dream. If you can spend eight hours on the job, you can spend some time on yourself and your goals.
Spend a little money, because you can't take it with you when you die. But do save money too! Self-care and therapy are great to take advantage of. It's OK to not be OK. What's not OK is staying in a bad space.
Don't be scared to jump when it comes to your purpose. God got you. Just make sure you're spiritually led! Bottom line? Find BALANCE in all you do.
What do you currently love about yourself?
That I'm a mother. I love my son!
I'm a writer. Being a writer is a gift.
The confidence in myself. I won't apologize for being my authentic self. Either you rock with it or roll off.
And that I've been both broke and broken. Sometimes simultaneously. And neither could destroy my spirit.
Roishina is no stranger to using words as her craft and her method to connect with others. She had these beautiful closing words to add at the end of her session.
“I'm a lover of words. So I want to share that I've got new books coming out on May 6, 2023. I also blog. So check {and subscribe to} the blog and books can be purchased on my website at roishina.com. Bookmark my site! And if you're in/close to Greenwood (Ms), you're invited to my Book Release Celebration/Pop Up Shop at Leflore County Civic Center on May 6 from 11:30-2 p.m. Other authors are joining me, live entertainment, vendors and giveaways! It's open to the public, and it's going to be good vibes; come share a dance with me!
This is my purpose: being an author and to inspire through words.
I also want to see people go after their purpose. That's ultimately where YOUR tailor-made success is. I've always known my purpose; I started writing stories at nine years old. But it took me years to fully embrace it. Now that I told God, 'yes,' He's shown me that anything is possible.
I would tell anybody to not do as me in letting years pass by on something they know they've been called to do! If it's your passion and true purpose in life, the way is ALREADY made. You just have to walk in it. And do it boldly. There are people out here who need what you've been created to do. “
