Tips to Master your Maternity Shoot | Hadonica's Photography

The Maternity experience comes at you fast. You get swept up in the magic of life growing in you, to all the changes your body undergoes, to your mood swinging every which way. Through Hadonica’s Photography, we help moms caught up in this transformative time in their lives hold onto the good moments in between everything else. Just because pregnancy can get wild doesn’t mean you won’t get your change to immortalize the fun moments.

As moms often have to learn everything about motherhood as they go, you may wonder what you need to know about maternity shoots. What are the basic need-to-know’s? I have the guide for you, so read on to see if I answer your question.

When is the best time to book my maternity shot?

Between 28-34 weeks is our recommendation. This is the perfect time when your ankles aren’t swollen and you are can still comfortably get up and down.

Will there be a lot of movement?

We won’t be asking you to do jumping jacks or anything strenuous like that. Some poses require you to sit on the ground and that’s as active as it’ll get.

Do I need to have my hair and makeup done on my own?

Absolutely not! As our client, expect to be pampered with professional hair and makeup. We have an in-house stylist that will take care of that for you. You’ll get to sit back and enjoy getting glammed up for your supermodel experience.

What about clothing?

Keep it simple. You can bring a black bra and blue jeans. Everything else is available in the studio for you!

Why is it important to document the journey?

There are so many stigmas about women’s bodies and how they should look regarding beauty conventions. At this stage in your life, you may not have the full confidence you used to, and that’s normal! Our mission is to help remind you that your beauty is always with you no matter what. Sometimes we just need a new experience to help lift our confidence and power up again.

And with every milestone in a family, you’ll want to leave your legacy in photos for yourself to look back on and enjoy with the following generations down the road.

Did your burning question make the list? If not, feel free to message me to find out what we can do for you and your maternity journey! Let me know what you want to get out of your studio experience.
