This is 40!

Latonya wanted to capture her 40th birthday in a different way, one that showed her strength, beauty, elegance, and grace. Let me tell you about the session day! Latonya came in feeling nervous I could tell! I walked up to her and told her about a vision I had of her being Mother nature surrounded by flowers. I had gotten these flowers as a birthday gift - The bright colors felt bold and beautiful to me which is exactly how I envisioned LaTonya!

Before the shoot:

“I’m what you call a WOMAN of many coats. First, I’m a child of GOD, a wonderful mom, secretary, mentor specialist, choir member, singer/songwriter, brand/logo owner, assistant coach, certified pharmacy technician, upcoming teacher/coach and college student.”

She was not kidding! She is a woman who’s about her business and it is reflected all over her face and energy.

Why did you want this photoshoot?

I chose this photoshoot now to celebrate me, of my greatness, and my accomplishments up to this magnificent age. I’m turning… 40!

I love that I am courageous, warm-hearted, and a great mother and teacher.

How do you feel about yourself in photographs now?

I feel beautiful, loving, and charming.

Prior to the session, she said she wanted to see herself as happy, loving, free, outgoing, and strong. What do you think? I think she’s embodied all of that AND MORE. Certainly a woman of many coats!
