Tawny | Empower 30+ Spotlight | Hadonica's Photography
Meet Tawny!
I photographed one of the most beautiful souls on this earth. Tawny after beating breast cancer is filled with joy and so much wisdom. I was honored to watch her dance, share her story and to watch her transform.
"Is that really meee??" That's what Tawny kept asking. All I could think was, “Yes, this is the woman you have created—A woman who fills a room with joy when she walks in, a woman who can still dance and find peace. A woman who is apart of the Empower Movement.”
Before the shoot:
“I am a Child of the Most High God! He created me to serve Him and I am nothing without Him. I am naturally shy and I dislike being the center of attention. Therefore, I have a difficult time posing for pictures. I think my best pictures are the natural ones. I was inspired by the empowerment 30 initiative. Hadonica’s Photography is more than taking pictures.”
TAWNY’S Q&A:
Why did you want this photoshoot?
I want to be photographed because I want to capture and show people the new me. I have changed a great deal over the past 3 years due to a life-threatening illness. I want to show the world that I am still here and God is a healer. I am determined and I am strong. God is not done with me yet!
What do you currently love about yourself?
I love that I love me and I do not give up on myself. I am not perfect. I have flaws and I have made mistakes. Today, I am the perfect image of myself. I work hard daily to be the light and I am evolving daily to be a better version of myself.
How do you hope to feel or look in your portraits?
I want to feel free, refreshed and vibrant. These portraits will represent a new beginning for my life.
How did you feel when you turned 30?
When I turned 30, I felt that I was mature and I was achieving many things, such as career, marriage, child, car, house, etc. Although I had these things, I still felt unsatisfied and empty inside.
What advice do you have for other women in their 30s?
First, I would tell them to slow down and enjoy life. Secondly, I would tell them to take a chance on themselves. You should do that "thing" that you dream about. Third, I would encourage them not to lose themself in someone else's dream. You are more than someone's wife, mother, etc.
Tawny says works hard to stay true and devoted. We absolutely see proof of that in her wisdom, her composure, and her groundedness. We loved getting the opportunity to get to know her!
