Meet Rasheda!
Headshots are more than just stuffy portraits for a job. The experience of being in front of the camera can help you feel vulnerable, open, beautiful, accepted, seen, and so much more.
That was the exact reason why Rasheda came to our studio. She brought three of her favorite outfits and each was so bold and fresh in its own way. They really conveyed her personality and helped her feel grounded. She was nervous because this is her first professional photoshoot but you wouldn’t have known without prior knowledge. Just look at how confident she is in her photos!
Before the shoot:
Rasheda stated, “I wanted someone who could bring out of me the beauty and boldness that I didn't know were inside. I wanted an experience--not just a picture.” She also told us that she wanted portraits that were not only professional for work but are noteworthy reflections of herself.
Rasheda’s Q&A:
One word to describe yourself. Why did you choose this word?
Favored. The favor of God has elevated me to levels that no degree could.
Who are you as an individual?
I am seasoning—an additive that makes everything it touches better. I am kind and considerate, and I seek to be a source of positivity in the lives of others. I'm funny and I find humor in even dire situations. I'm an extroverted introvert who loves people and alone time.
Why do you want to be photographed?
I wanted professional headshots that not only captured who I am but also who I aspire to be.
In your opinion, what are some stigmas and beliefs that women face after they turn 30?
Some may feel that things go downhill after 30. I beg to differ. The experiences of the 20s and the development of the 30s can make the 40s magnificent.
What advice do you have for other women in their 30s?
Build yourself up by building up others. Be the best version of yourself at all costs.
What do you currently love about yourself?
I love my heart for people. I sincerely care for people and I celebrate their highs and assist them during their lows.
Rasheda looked to photography to bring out her desire to be the personification of beauty, kindness, and confidence. There is power in existing in photos, and there’s power within you. How do you honor your own power?
